Thank You Event!

On 9th October 2024, Swanley & District Foodbank invited many members of the Swanley community who have supported them for the last ten years, to Pedham Place Golf Centre to say thank you for all their help.

It was a wonderful celebration with volunteers current and past, trustees, local, district & county councillors, representatives of the police, local churches, Swanley Town Council, West Kent Housing Association, The Community Cupboard and NWKCAB, people who kindly helped with our recent move to the high street and the CEO of Swanley Town Council, along with the Mayor of Swanley and the Chairman of Sevenoaks District Council, accompanied by their consorts.

Pedham put on a wonderful afternoon tea spread, despite some last minute additions, and kept us all fed and watered throughout.

There were several competitions to take part in, including anagrams, guess the cost of the groceries and how many pieces of pasta were in the jar!

John, our Chair of Trustees, gave a speech thanking everyone present, and those unable to make it, for all their help in getting us to this day.

After which, everyone continued to eat, drink and enjoy catching up or meeting new people.  An enormous thanks to everyone who attended, to Pedham Place Golf Centre for a wonderful event, to Maria Assia for donating her time to take these fantastic photos and the ones of our ribbon cutting,  and to everyone past and present who has worked so hard to help Swanley & District Foodbank be able to support people in need.
